Long Island Man Charged After Driving With 58 License Suspensions, Police Say

A Long Island man who police say drove with more than 50 license suspensions has been charged.

Officers from the Highway Patrol SITE (Suffolk Intensified Traffic Enforcement) team say they initiated a traffic stop on a 2005 Dodge pickup truck on Long Island Avenue in Wyandanch on Thursday, Sept. 12 around 10 a.m. after observing that the vehicle was missing an inspection sticker.

Further investigation and a check with the DMV revealed that the license of the driver, identified as Ramon Guevara-Reyes, 28, of Brentwood, had been suspended a total of 58 times on 10 dates, police say.

Guevara-Reyes was arrested and charged with first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. He is being held at the First Precinct pending his arraignment at First District Court in Central Islip on Friday, Sept. 13.
